🍽️ Grilled Pork Ribs with Homemade BBQ Sauce

Ingredients
- 1 onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 200 g ketchup
- 50 ml apple cider vinegar
- 75 g brown sugar
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- chili powder
- salt
- pepper (from the mill)
- 2 kg spare ribs
Instructions
- 1. Peel the onion and the garlic.
- 2. Finely chop both.
- 3. Heat oil in a pan.
- 4. Sauté the onion and garlic mixture briefly until translucent.
- 5. Stir in ketchup, a little water, and vinegar.
- 6. Add sugar, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, salt, and pepper.
- 7. Bring the sauce to a boil.
- 8. Reduce the heat to medium.
- 9. Simmer the sauce half-covered for about 15 minutes.
- 10. Stir occasionally.
- 11. Remove the sauce from the heat when it reaches the desired consistency.
- 12. Finally, adjust the seasoning of the sauce to taste.
- 13. Rinse the pork ribs.
- 14. Pat the ribs dry.
- 15. Brush the ribs with some of the prepared sauce.
- 16. Let the ribs rest for about 30 minutes.
- 17. Preheat the grill.
- 18. Set the grill to low heat.
- 19. Keep a sufficient distance from the coals.
- 20. Grill the ribs for about 40 minutes.
- 21. Adjust the cooking time for thicker ribs accordingly.
- 22. Turn the ribs regularly in between.
- 23. Brush the ribs with the sauce repeatedly while grilling.
- 24. Portion the finished ribs.
- 25. Serve the remaining sauce separately.
- 26. Serve the ribs with potatoes as desired.
- 27. Garnish them with sauerkraut salad as desired.
