🍽️ Juicy Grilled Ribs with Homemade BBQ Sauce

Ingredients
- 1 onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 200 g ketchup
- 50 ml apple cider vinegar
- 75 g brown sugar
- 60 ml Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp chili powder
- salt
- pepper
- 2 kg spare ribs
Instructions
- 1. Peel the onion and the garlic.
- 2. Finely chop the onion and garlic.
- 3. Heat oil in a pan.
- 4. Sauté the onion and garlic mixture in the hot oil briefly until translucent.
- 5. Add ketchup, a little water, and vinegar to the pan.
- 6. Stir in sugar, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, salt, and pepper.
- 7. Bring the sauce to a boil.
- 8. Reduce the heat to medium.
- 9. Cover the pan halfway.
- 10. Let the sauce simmer gently for about 15 minutes.
- 11. Stir the sauce occasionally.
- 12. Remove the sauce from the heat once it reaches the desired consistency.
- 13. Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning if needed.
- 14. Rinse the pork ribs under running water.
- 15. Pat the ribs dry with a kitchen towel.
- 16. Brush the ribs lightly with a little of the prepared sauce.
- 17. Preheat the grill and set it to low heat.
- 18. Place the ribs on the grill grate.
- 19. Keep a sufficient distance from the direct embers.
- 20. Grill the ribs for about 40 minutes.
- 21. Turn the ribs regularly while grilling.
- 22. Brush the ribs with the barbecue sauce repeatedly in between.
- 23. Cut the cooked ribs into individual portions.
- 24. Serve the remaining sauce separately in a bowl.
- 25. Serve the ribs with baked beans if desired.
