🍰 Classic Black and White Cookies

Ingredients
- 300 g flour
- 100 g sugar
- 1 tbsp vanilla sugar
- 200 g butter
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 egg
- 30 g orange peel
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1 tbsp whipping cream
- flour (for working)
Instructions
- 1. Pour the flour onto a clean work surface and create a small well in the center.
- 2. Spread the sugar, vanilla sugar, butter pieces, and salt onto the ring of flour around the well.
- 3. Place the egg into the center of the well.
- 4. Roughly chop the ingredients with your hands until crumbs form.
- 5. Quickly knead the mixture into a smooth dough.
- 6. If the dough is too dry, add a little flour, or add cold water if it is too sticky.
- 7. Divide the dough into two equal halves.
- 8. Finely chop the candied orange peel.
- 9. Knead the finely chopped orange peel into the first portion of the dough.
- 10. Knead the cocoa powder and cream into the second portion of the dough.
- 11. Wrap each portion of dough separately in cling film.
- 12. Place the wrapped doughs in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
- 13. Shape each portion of dough into two long rolls with a diameter of 3 to 4 centimeters.
- 14. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius fan mode.
- 15. Slice the dough rolls into 3 to 4 millimeter thick rounds using a sharp knife.
- 16. Place the slices on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
- 17. Bake the cookies in the oven for 10 to 12 minutes.
- 18. Carefully remove the cookies from the tray and let them cool completely.
