  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
  2. 2. Lightly grease the muffin cups with butter.
  3. 3. Lightly dust the greased cups with flour so the batter does not stick later.
  4. 4. Put the flour, ground almonds, chopped almonds, baking powder, and cinnamon into a large bowl.
  5. 5. Mix the dry ingredients in the bowl well together.
  6. 6. Put the eggs, sugar, buttermilk, and oil into a second bowl.
  7. 7. Whisk the liquid ingredients in the second bowl vigorously.
  8. 8. Add the dry flour mixture to the liquid mixture.
  9. 9. Stir everything together until a smooth batter forms.
  10. 10. Divide the finished batter evenly into two separate bowls.
  11. 11. Melt the chocolate in a water bath.
  12. 12. Stir the melted chocolate into half of the batter.
  13. 13. Spoon alternately a dollop of plain batter and a dollop of chocolate batter into the muffin cups.
  14. 14. Use a toothpick or spoon to swirl the batters together to create a marble effect.
