🍰 Delicious Chocolate Waffles

Ingredients
- 150 g spelt wholemeal flour
- 2 tbsp strongly defatted cocoa powder (14 g)
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 15 g whole cane sugar (1 tbsp)
- salt
- 3 tbsp coconut oil
- 200 ml milk (3.5% fat)
- 2 eggs
- 100 ml sparkling mineral water
- 70 g dark chocolate shavings (min. 70% cocoa content)
- 1 orange
- 50 ml whipping cream
- 1 tsp icing sugar from cane sugar
Instructions
- 1. Mix flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, sugar, and a pinch of salt in a large bowl. Melt 2 tablespoons of coconut oil, add it along with the milk and eggs to the flour mixture, and stir well. Fold in the sparkling water and the 50 grams of chocolate shavings.
- 2. Grease the hot waffle iron with 1/2 teaspoon of coconut oil each time. Bake 4 waffles one after the other. Keep them warm in a preheated oven at 80 degrees Celsius (convection 60 degrees Celsius, gas mark 1) if necessary.
- 3. Peel the orange, removing all white pith. Carefully cut out the fruit segments between the membranes. Whip the cream until stiff.
- 4. Decorate the waffles with the orange segments and the whipped cream. Sprinkle with the remaining chocolate shavings and dust lightly with powdered sugar.
