  1. 1. Soak the gelatin in cold water for five minutes.
  2. 2. Slice the vanilla pod lengthwise and scrape out the seeds.
  3. 3. Boil the milk together with the vanilla seeds and sugar for five minutes.
  4. 4. Whisk the egg yolks in a separate bowl.
  5. 5. Pour the hot milk into the egg yolks while stirring constantly with a whisk.
  6. 6. Place the bowl over a hot water bath and whip the mixture until creamy.
  7. 7. Squeeze out the soaked gelatin and stir it into the egg cream until dissolved.
  8. 8. Place the bowl in a cold water bath and continue whipping the cream until it is lukewarm.
  9. 9. Whip the cream until stiff and gently fold it into the cream mixture.
  10. 10. Break the chocolate into small pieces and place them in a bowl.
  11. 11. Melt the chocolate pieces over a warm water bath.
  12. 12. Whisk the egg yolks, sugar, and milk together in a bowl.
  13. 13. Place this mixture over a hot water bath and whip it until creamy.
  14. 14. Stir the melted chocolate into the egg cream.
  15. 15. Let the chocolate cream cool down briefly.
  16. 16. Whip the cream until stiff and fold it into the chocolate mixture.
  17. 17. Fill four tall glasses with alternating layers of vanilla and chocolate cream, about one centimeter high per layer.
  18. 18. Chill the creams in the refrigerator for about two hours until set.
