🍽️ Crunchy Chocolate Cookies

Ingredients
- 250 g dark chocolate
- 100 g soft butter
- 150 g cane sugar
- 2 tbsp vanilla sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- 2 eggs
- 300 g flour
- 4 tbsp cocoa powder
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 6 tbsp milk
- 80 g powdered sugar (for rolling)
Instructions
- 1. Roughly chop the chocolate.
- 2. Melt the chocolate pieces in a bowl placed over a pot of hot, but not boiling water (bain-marie). Stir occasionally.
- 3. Remove the bowl from the pot and set it aside to let the chocolate cool slightly.
- 4. Add the butter, sugar, vanilla sugar, and salt to a large mixing bowl.
- 5. Beat the butter-sugar mixture with a mixer or a fork until it becomes light and fluffy.
- 6. Add the egg to the butter-sugar mixture and mix it in briefly.
- 7. Add the melted chocolate to the mixture and stir it in gently.
- 8. Add the flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder to the bowl.
- 9. Add the milk.
- 10. Mix everything together to form a dough.
- 11. Check the consistency of the dough.
- 12. If the dough seems too runny, add a little more flour.
- 13. If the dough seems too dry, add a splash more milk.
- 14. Cover the bowl with the dough.
- 15. Place the dough in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
- 16. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius fan-forced.
- 17. Take small portions of the dough.
- 18. Shape each portion into a ball about 2 centimeters in diameter.
- 19. Gently flatten the dough balls.
- 20. Roll the flattened balls in powdered sugar so they are coated all over.
- 21. Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
- 22. Place the cookies on a second baking sheet also lined with baking paper.
- 23. Place the baking sheets in the preheated oven.
- 24. Bake the cookies for about 10 minutes.
- 25. Make sure the cookies remain crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside.
- 26. Remove the baking sheets from the oven.
- 27. Place the finished cookies on a cooling rack.
- 28. Let the cookies cool completely on the rack.
