🍽️ Crunchy Chocolate-Nut Macaroons

Ingredients
- 3 egg whites
- 250 sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- 300 g hazelnuts
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder
- currant jam (for assembling)
- chocolate
- red sugar icing (from a tube)
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 160 degrees Celsius.
- 2. Whip the egg whites until stiff, white, and creamy.
- 3. Slowly stir the sugar into the egg whites.
- 4. Add a pinch of salt, the nuts, and the cocoa powder.
- 5. Gently fold in the ingredients without deflating the mixture.
- 6. Fill the mixture into a piping bag fitted with a star tip.
- 7. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- 8. Pipe small mounds onto the tray.
- 9. Keep the oven door slightly ajar while baking.
- 10. Bake the macaroons for about 30 minutes.
- 11. Remove the macaroons and let them cool completely.
- 12. Slightly warm the jam until it becomes liquid.
- 13. Join two macaroons together with the jam.
- 14. Decorate the cookies with chocolate and sugar icing.
