🍽️ Chocolate Marzipan Balls with Cherries

Ingredients
- 200 g chopped almond kernels
- 100 g dark chocolate coating
- 200 g marzipan raw mass
- 2 egg whites
- 150 g powdered sugar
- 3 tbsp cocoa powder
- 0.5 tsp cinnamon powder
- 40 Amarena cherries
- 150 g dark chocolate coating
Instructions
- 1. Place the almonds in a pan.
- 2. Heat the pan on medium setting.
- 3. Toast the almonds briefly until they smell fragrant.
- 4. Put the chopped chocolate into a food processor or blender.
- 5. Chop the chocolate into fine crumbs.
- 6. Finely chop the marzipan.
- 7. Add the egg whites to the marzipan in portions.
- 8. Knead the egg well into the marzipan each time.
- 9. Gradually add the powdered sugar.
- 10. Add the cocoa to the mixture.
- 11. Add the cinnamon to the mixture.
- 12. Add the chocolate crumbs to the mixture.
- 13. Knead all ingredients into a smooth dough.
- 14. Moisten your hands with a little water.
- 15. Take a small amount of dough with a small spoon.
- 16. Shape the dough into a ball.
- 17. Repeat this until you have 40 balls.
- 18. Make sure the balls are about 3 cm in diameter.
- 19. Press a small indentation into each ball.
- 20. Place a cherry in the indentation.
- 21. Seal the dough around the cherry.
- 22. Place the balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- 23. Leave some space between the balls.
- 24. Preheat the oven to 170 degrees.
- 25. Place the tray on the middle rack.
- 26. Bake the balls for 12 to 15 minutes.
- 27. Remove the balls from the oven.
- 28. Let the balls cool down.
- 29. Chop the remaining chocolate coarsely.
- 30. Melt the chocolate in a double boiler.
- 31. Dip the top of the cooled cookies into the melted chocolate.
- 32. Place the cookies on parchment paper.
- 33. Wait until the chocolate has dried.
- 34. Pipe small sugar decorations onto the cookies if desired.
