  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 160 degrees Celsius with fan setting.
  2. 2. Line a baking pan (approx. 24 x 24 cm) with baking paper.
  3. 3. Melt 150 g of chocolate together with the butter over a hot water bath.
  4. 4. Mix the flour with the almonds and 50 g of roughly chopped chocolate in a bowl.
  5. 5. Whisk the eggs with the sugar, vanilla sugar, rum, and spices until well combined.
  6. 6. Fold the melted chocolate-butter mixture into the egg-sugar mixture.
  7. 7. Add the flour mixture and gently stir everything until a uniform dough forms.
  8. 8. Pour the dough into the prepared pan.
  9. 9. Bake the dough in the preheated oven for approx. 25 minutes.
  10. 10. Remove the tray from the oven and let the cake cool down completely in the pan.
  11. 11. Cut the cooled cake into small cubes with a side length of 3 cm.
  12. 12. Melt the remaining chocolate again over a hot water bath.
  13. 13. Coat the cubes evenly with the liquid chocolate.
