  2. 2. Mash the bananas finely with a fork.
  3. 3. Mix the flour with the oats.
  4. 4. Add cinnamon, baking powder, and baking soda to the flour mixture.
  5. 5. Whisk the egg in a large bowl.
  6. 6. Add the sugar, vegetable oil, mashed bananas, and buttermilk to the egg mixture.
  7. 7. Stir the ingredients well.
  8. 8. Add the dry flour mixture to the wet egg mixture.
  9. 9. Stir only until the dry ingredients are moistened.
  10. 10. Fold in the chocolate chips at the end.
  11. 11. Line a muffin tin with paper liners.
  12. 12. Fill the molds with the batter.
  13. 13. Preheat the oven to 180 °C (160 °C for fan-assisted or gas mark 2–3).
  14. 14. Bake the muffins on the middle rack for 20 to 25 minutes.
  15. 15. Remove the muffins from the oven.
