  5. 5. Pour the red beans and corn into a sieve.
  6. 6. Let the excess water drain off.
  7. 7. Make a lengthwise cut in the chili pepper.
  8. 8. Remove the seeds from the pod.
  9. 9. Rinse the deseeded pod.
  10. 10. Finely chop the chili pod.
  11. 11. Rinse the thyme under water.
  12. 12. Strip the thyme leaves from the stems.
  13. 13. Drain the cooked green beans.
  14. 14. Peel the vegetable onion.
  15. 15. Peel the garlic clove.
  16. 16. Finely chop the onion and garlic.
  17. 17. Halve the meat sausage lengthwise.
  18. 18. Slice the meat sausage.
  19. 19. Heat the olive oil in a pot.
  20. 20. Sauté the meat sausage briefly.
  21. 21. Add the onion to the pot.
  22. 22. Add the garlic to the pot.
  23. 23. Add the chili pod to the pot.
  24. 24. Add the thyme to the pot.
  25. 25. Sauté the ingredients briefly.
  26. 26. Add the tomatoes to the pot.
  27. 27. Bring the mixture to a boil while stirring.
  28. 28. Mash the tomatoes with a cooking spoon.
  29. 29. Add the red beans to the pot.
  30. 30. Add the corn to the pot.
  31. 31. Let the mixture simmer gently for 5 minutes.
  32. 32. Fold the green beans into the mixture.
  33. 33. Heat the dish again.
  34. 34. Season with salt to taste.
  35. 35. Season with cayenne pepper or chili powder to taste.
