Ingredients
- salt
- 2 tsp rapeseed oil
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp sugar
- 80 g pearl onions (drained; jar)
- 250 g strained tomatoes
- 150 ml cooking cream
- white pepper
- 400 g pasta (e.g. bowtie pasta)
- 0.5 bunch parsley
- 150 g peas (frozen)
Instructions
- 1. Fill a large pot with water and add plenty of salt. Place the pot on the stove and bring the water to a boil.
- 2. Add oil to a separate pan and heat it up.
- 3. Add tomato paste, sugar, and the drained pearl onions to the hot pan.
- 4. Sauté the ingredients in the pan for 30 seconds.
- 5. Add the pureed tomatoes and the cream to the pan.
- 6. Season the sauce with salt and pepper.
- 7. Let the sauce reduce over medium heat until it becomes creamy.
- 8. Stir the sauce several times during this process.
- 9. Add the pasta to the boiling salted water.
- 10. Cook the pasta al dente, exactly according to the instructions on the package.
- 11. Wash the parsley thoroughly.
- 12. Shake the parsley dry.
- 13. Pluck the leaves from the stems.
- 14. Finely chop the parsley leaves.
- 15. Add the peas to the pasta a few minutes before the end of the cooking time.
- 16. Continue cooking the pasta and peas until they are done.
- 17. Drain the pasta and peas in a colander.
- 18. Mix the drained pasta with the tomato sauce.
- 19. Sprinkle the finished dish with the chopped parsley.
