🍰 Crispy Butter Fat Dumplings

Ingredients
- 400 g Wheat flour Type 1050 (+ 2 tbsp for working)
- 40 g Raw cane sugar
- 3 level tsp Baking powder
- 1 pinch Salt
- 30 g warm Ghee
- 120 ml Milk (3.5% fat)
- 300 ml vegetable frying oil
- 25 g Powdered sugar from cane sugar
Instructions
- 1. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
- 2. Add butter fat, milk, and 110 milliliters of water.
- 3. Process the ingredients with the dough hooks of the hand mixer into a smooth dough.
- 4. If necessary, add a little more flour or liquid until the consistency is correct.
- 5. Let the dough rest for about 15 minutes.
- 6. Dust a work surface with flour.
- 7. Roll out the dough there to about 0.5 centimeters thick.
- 8. Cut the dough into small squares with a side length of 2 centimeters.
- 9. Heat oil in a pot to 170 degrees Celsius.
- 10. Fry the dough pieces in the hot fat for 1 to 2 minutes until golden brown.
- 11. Pour the finished butter fat dumplings directly with a little hot oil over them.
- 12. Lift the dumplings out of the fat with a slotted spoon.
- 13. Let them drain on kitchen paper.
- 14. Let the butter fat dumplings cool down briefly.
- 15. Dust them with powdered sugar and serve.
