  1. 1. Heat the lard and butter in a pot.
  2. 2. Remove the pot from the heat and let the mixture cool down briefly.
  3. 3. Mix flour, sugar, vanilla sugar, and salt in a large bowl.
  4. 4. Dissolve the baking ammonia (a leavening agent) in the rum.
  5. 5. Add the cooled fat mixture and the rum-baking ammonia solution to the flour mixture.
  6. 6. Knead everything into a smooth dough.
  7. 7. Divide the dough into two equal halves.
  8. 8. Work the cocoa into one of the two halves.
  9. 9. Form small balls with a diameter of about 2 cm from both doughs.
  10. 10. Place the balls on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
  11. 11. Press each ball slightly in the center with your finger.
  12. 12. Make sure the dough cracks slightly at the edge.
  13. 13. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.
  14. 14. Bake the cookies for about 15 minutes.
  15. 15. Remove the cookies from the oven.
  16. 16. Let the cookies cool down completely.
