🍽️ Crunchy Lard Cookies

Ingredients
- 125 g Butter
- 200 g Lard
- 200 g Sugar
- 400 g Flour
- 2 packets Vanilla Sugar
- 1 pinch Salt
- 2 tsp Baker's Ammonia
- 20 ml Rum
- 2 tbsp Cocoa Powder
Instructions
- 1. Heat the lard and butter in a pot.
- 2. Remove the pot from the heat and let the mixture cool down briefly.
- 3. Mix flour, sugar, vanilla sugar, and salt in a large bowl.
- 4. Dissolve the baking ammonia (a leavening agent) in the rum.
- 5. Add the cooled fat mixture and the rum-baking ammonia solution to the flour mixture.
- 6. Knead everything into a smooth dough.
- 7. Divide the dough into two equal halves.
- 8. Work the cocoa into one of the two halves.
- 9. Form small balls with a diameter of about 2 cm from both doughs.
- 10. Place the balls on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
- 11. Press each ball slightly in the center with your finger.
- 12. Make sure the dough cracks slightly at the edge.
- 13. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.
- 14. Bake the cookies for about 15 minutes.
- 15. Remove the cookies from the oven.
- 16. Let the cookies cool down completely.
