🍽️ Crunchy Ham and Cheese Baguettes

Ingredients
- 0.5 cucumber
- 4 radishes
- 1 handful arugula
- 3 sprigs dill
- 100 g cream cheese
- 1 tsp medium-hot mustard
- salt
- pepper (from the mill)
- 1 baguette (or four baguette rolls)
- 4 slices turkey sausage
- 4 slices hard cheese (e.g. Alpine cheese)
Instructions
- 1. Wash the cucumber under running water.
- 2. Peel the cucumber completely.
- 3. Dice the cucumber into small cubes.
- 4. Slice the radishes into very thin sticks.
- 5. Wash the arugula under running water.
- 6. Remove any wilted or brown leaves from the arugula.
- 7. Dry the arugula thoroughly, for example with a kitchen towel.
- 8. Rinse the dill under running water.
- 9. Shake the dill dry.
- 10. Pick off the fine dill tips from the stems.
- 11. Place the diced cucumber, radishes, arugula, and dill into a bowl.
- 12. Mix the cream cheese with the mustard in a separate bowl.
- 13. Season the cheese mixture generously with salt.
- 14. Season the cheese mixture generously with pepper.
- 15. Slice the baguette lengthwise, but not all the way through.
- 16. Remove some bread from the inside of the baguette to make room.
- 17. Cut the baguette into four equal pieces.
- 18. Take about one-quarter of the cheese cream.
- 19. Spread the cheese cream onto one half of the bread.
- 20. Repeat this for all bread halves.
- 21. Top the bread with the prepared vegetable mixture.
- 22. Place a slice of ham on the vegetables.
- 23. Place a slice of cheese on the ham.
- 24. Tie the sandwiches together with kitchen twine if desired to keep them stable.
- 25. Pack the sandwiches, for example for a picnic.
