🍰 Cherry Quark Towers with Crispy Crumbs

Ingredients
- 200 g crumbled pumpernickel (or whole grain bread)
- 5 sugar
- 2 butter
- 150 g quark
- 200 g whipped cream
- 200 g sour cherry compote
- 20 ml kirsch
Instructions
- 1. Mix the breadcrumbs with three tablespoons of sugar in a bowl.
- 2. Heat the butter in a frying pan.
- 3. Add the bread-sugar mixture to the hot butter.
- 4. Fry the mixture while stirring constantly until it is very crispy.
- 5. Spread the crispy crumbs out on a surface and let them cool down.
- 6. Stir the quark (curd cheese) with the remaining sugar until creamy.
- 7. Gently fold the cream into the quark mixture.
- 8. Drain the cherries.
- 9. Marinate the drained cherries with the kirsch (cherry brandy).
- 10. Take four tall stemmed glasses.
- 11. Place one tablespoon of the marinated cherries with liquid into each glass.
- 12. Sprinkle a layer of the cooled crumbs over the cherries.
- 13. Add a layer of the quark cream on top.
- 14. Add more cherries.
- 15. Sprinkle with crumbs again.
- 16. Add the final layer of quark cream.
- 17. Sprinkle the surface with the remaining crumbs to look like streusel.
- 18. Place the glasses in the refrigerator for 30 minutes before serving.
