🍽️ Creamy Cod Gratin with Spinach

Ingredients
- 200 g fresh spinach leaves
- salt
- 600 g cod
- 300 ml heavy cream
- 100 g crème fraîche
- pepper (from the mill)
- 0.5 tsp nutmeg
- 60 g butter
- 100 g breadcrumbs
Instructions
- 1. Wash the spinach thoroughly and remove any root ends.
- 2. Bring water with salt to a boil.
- 3. Add the spinach to the boiling water for 1 to 2 minutes until it is soft (this is called blanching).
- 4. Remove the spinach from the water.
- 5. Rinse the spinach immediately under cold water to stop the cooking process.
- 6. Wash the cod and pat it dry with a kitchen towel.
- 7. Cut the fish into approx. 2 cm cubes.
- 8. Place the fish cubes into a greased baking dish.
- 9. Distribute the drained spinach evenly over the fish.
- 10. Mix the cream with the crème fraîche.
- 11. Season the mixture with salt, pepper, and a pinch of nutmeg.
- 12. Pour the cream mixture over the fish and spinach.
- 13. Make sure the fish is completely covered with the liquid.
- 14. Mix the butter with the breadcrumbs.
- 15. Sprinkle the butter-breadcrumb mixture evenly over the surface.
- 16. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes.
