🍽️ Spooky Witch Fingers for Halloween

Ingredients
- 100 g flour
- 50 g ground, peeled almond kernels
- 100 g cold butter
- 70 g sugar
- 4 drops bitter almond flavoring
- 1 egg yolk
- 0.5 tsp salt
- 20 almond kernels
Instructions
- 1. Mix the flour with the ground almonds, the cold butter, the sugar, the flavoring, the egg yolk, and the salt.
- 2. Knead the ingredients quickly into a smooth dough.
- 3. Wrap the dough in cling film.
- 4. Place the dough in the refrigerator for at least one hour.
- 5. Put the whole almonds into boiling water.
- 6. Let the almonds steep in the water for about five minutes.
- 7. Drain the water.
- 8. Shock the almonds with cold water.
- 9. Place the almonds on kitchen paper and let them drip dry.
- 10. Squeeze the soft almond skins off the almonds.
- 11. Spread the peeled almonds out on a kitchen towel.
- 12. Let the almonds dry completely.
- 13. Take the dough out of the refrigerator.
- 14. Divide the dough into 20 to 25 equal pieces.
- 15. Roll each piece into a strand about 10 centimeters long.
- 16. Shape the strands into finger shapes.
- 17. Press an almond as a fingernail into the end of each finger.
- 18. Press small wrinkles into the joints with a knife.
- 19. Place the shaped fingers on a plate.
- 20. Put the plate back in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
- 21. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees top and bottom heat.
- 22. Line a baking sheet with baking paper.
- 23. Place the fingers on the prepared tray.
- 24. Bake the fingers for about 15 minutes until light brown.
- 25. Let the baked fingers cool down completely.
