  6. 6. Cut the empty chili pods into thin strips.
  7. 7. Peel the garlic cloves completely.
  8. 8. Slice the garlic into thin rounds.
  9. 9. Pour the olive oil into a small pot.
  10. 10. Warm the oil over medium heat.
  11. 11. Add the basil leaves, chili strips, and garlic slices to the warm oil.
  12. 12. Reduce the heat to the lowest setting.
  13. 13. Let the ingredients steep in the oil for five minutes.
  14. 14. Stir the salt into the mixture.
  15. 15. Pour the finished oil into a clean, dry jar.
