🍽️ Spicy Tomato Sauce

Ingredients
- 2 onions
- 1 tbsp rapeseed oil
- 4 tbsp tomato paste
- 150 g pureed tomatoes (Tetrapak)
- 0.5 small lemon
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1.5 tbsp honey
- 0.5 tsp sambal oelek
- salt
Instructions
- 1. Peel the onions.
- 2. Dice the onions finely.
- 3. Heat the oil in a pot.
- 4. Sauté the onions in the hot oil until translucent.
- 5. Add the tomato paste to the pot.
- 6. Add the puréed tomatoes to the pot.
- 7. Heat the tomato mixture.
- 8. Cover the pot with a lid.
- 9. Simmer the sauce over low heat for about 15 minutes.
- 10. Squeeze the half lemon.
- 11. Add the soy sauce to the sauce.
- 12. Add the honey to the sauce.
- 13. Add the Sambal Oelek to the sauce.
- 14. Stir the ingredients into the tomato sauce.
- 15. Season the sauce with salt.
- 16. Season the sauce with the squeezed lemon juice.
- 17. Let the sauce cool down for about 20 minutes.
- 18. Place the sauce in a cool place with the lid on.
