🍽️ Spicy Chicken Skewers

Ingredients
- 600 g chicken breast fillet
- 1 red bell pepper
- 1 yellow bell pepper
- 1 green bell pepper
- 250 g small button mushrooms
- 16 bay leaves
- 1 tsp dried chili flakes
- 0.5 tsp paprika powder
- pepper (from the mill)
- salt
- 1 tsp thyme leaves
- 1 tsp rosemary needles
- 4 tbsp olive oil
- 1 untreated lime (juice and zest)
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the chicken breast under cold water.
- 2. Pat the meat dry with a kitchen towel.
- 3. Cut the chicken meat into approx. 2 cm cubes.
- 4. Wash the bell peppers thoroughly.
- 5. Halve the bell peppers lengthwise.
- 6. Remove the inside (seeds and ribs) of the pepper.
- 7. Cut the pepper into approx. 2 cm cubes as well.
- 8. Clean the mushrooms and remove the stem base if necessary.
- 9. Thread chicken, pepper, and mushroom cubes onto the skewers alternately.
- 10. Use all prepared ingredients for the skewers.
- 11. Thread a bay leaf onto each skewer at the end.
- 12. Grind the spices and herbs for the marinade finely in a mortar.
- 13. Mix the ground spice mixture with the oil.
- 14. Add the lime juice to the marinade.
- 15. Stir in the lemon or lime zest.
- 16. Brush the chicken skewers evenly with the marinade.
- 17. Let the skewers marinate for approx. 30 minutes.
- 18. Preheat the grill.
- 19. Place the skewers on the hot grill.
- 20. Grill the skewers for 4 to 5 minutes from each side.
- 21. Serve the skewers immediately while hot.
