🍽️ Spicy Shrimp with Crispy Garlic Bread

Ingredients
- 25 g Butter
- 1 tbsp Olive oil
- 1 red chili pepper
- 450 g larger shrimp (kitchen-ready; fresh or frozen)
- 0.25 tsp Chili powder
- 20 ml Cognac
- 1 tbsp Tomato puree
- 3 tbsp fresh herbs (mixed, finely chopped)
- Salt
- Pepper (from the mill)
- 1 Ciabatta (or baguette)
- 3 tbsp liquid garlic butter
- 4 tbsp Olive oil
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the chili peppers under running water.
- 2. Slice the chili peppers lengthwise.
- 3. Remove the seeds and white pith from the chili peppers.
- 4. Finely chop the chili peppers.
- 5. Heat the butter and oil in a large pan.
- 6. Add the chopped chili to the pan.
- 7. Sauté the chili for about 2 to 3 minutes.
- 8. Add the shrimp to the pan.
- 9. Fry the shrimp over high heat.
- 10. Continue frying the shrimp until they turn reddish.
- 11. Sprinkle chili powder over the shrimp.
- 12. Add the cognac to the pan.
- 13. Add the tomato puree to the pan.
- 14. Add the herbs to the pan.
- 15. Season the mixture with salt.
- 16. Season the mixture with pepper.
- 17. Finish cooking the shrimp for another 2 to 3 minutes.
- 18. Mix the garlic butter with the olive oil.
- 19. Spread the butter mixture onto the bread slices.
- 20. Preheat the oven or turn on the grill.
- 21. Toast the bread in the hot oven or under the grill.
- 22. Toast the bread until it is golden brown.
- 23. Serve the shrimp together with the garlic bread.
- 24. Add a small fresh salad on the side.
