🍽️ Feta Basil Sandwich with Apple and Arugula

Ingredients
- 0.5 handful basil
- 250 g sheep's milk cheese
- 1 tsp olive oil
- pepper (from the mill)
- 50 g onions (1 small onion)
- 3 tomatoes
- 1 handful arugula
- 0.5 red-skinned apple
- lemon juice
- 4 thin flatbreads (or 2 slices of Tramezzini bread)
Instructions
- 1. Wash the basil thoroughly.
- 2. Shake the basil dry.
- 3. Finely chop the basil.
- 4. Place half of the feta cheese into a bowl.
- 5. Mix the feta cheese with the chopped basil.
- 6. Add the olive oil to the cheese and basil mixture.
- 7. Season the mixture with some pepper.
- 8. Peel the onion.
- 9. Halve the onion.
- 10. Slice the onion into very thin slices.
- 11. Wash the tomatoes.
- 12. Cut out the stem area of the tomato in a wedge shape.
- 13. Slice the tomato into thin slices.
- 14. Wash the arugula.
- 15. Remove the tough stems from the arugula.
- 16. Shake the arugula dry.
- 17. Slice the remaining feta cheese.
- 18. Wash the apple.
- 19. Quarter the apple.
- 20. Core the apple.
- 21. Cut the apple into thin wedges.
- 22. Immediately moisten the apple wedges with a few drops of lemon juice.
- 23. Slice the bread horizontally.
- 24. Spread the basil-feta mixture onto the bottom half of the bread.
- 25. Place the onion slices on the bread.
- 26. Place the tomato slices on the onions.
- 27. Place the feta cheese slices on the tomatoes.
- 28. Place the arugula on the cheese.
- 29. Place the apple wedges on the arugula.
- 30. Place the top half of the bread on the filling.
- 31. Serve the sandwich as a summer snack.
