🍽️ Tuna Salad Sandwich

Ingredients
- 1 can tuna (in its own juice)
- 4 lettuce leaves
- 2 tomatoes
- 2 stalks celery
- 6 tbsp crème fraîche
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 garlic cloves
- salt
- pepper (from a mill)
- 8 slices light multi-grain bread
Instructions
- 1. Open the can of tuna and drain the water or oil completely.
- 2. Take the tuna out of the can and mash it into small pieces with a fork.
- 3. Wash the lettuce leaves under running water.
- 4. Gently dry the leaves with a kitchen towel.
- 5. Tear the lettuce leaves into small, bite-sized pieces.
- 6. Wash the tomatoes thoroughly.
- 7. Cut the tomatoes into four equal quarters.
- 8. Remove the hard core and seeds from the tomato quarters.
- 9. Cut the remaining tomato flesh into very small cubes.
- 10. Wash the celery stalks under running water.
- 11. Remove the tough fibers and the frayed end of the stalk.
- 12. Dice the celery into very fine small cubes.
- 13. Save a few of the fine celery leaves for decoration.
- 14. Finely chop the remaining celery leaves.
- 15. Put the crème fraîche into a large mixing bowl.
- 16. Squeeze the juice of half a lemon into the crème fraîche.
- 17. Whisk the crème fraîche and lemon juice together well.
- 18. Peel a clove of garlic and remove the sprouts.
- 19. Press the garlic directly into the sauce.
- 20. Add the crushed tuna to the sauce.
- 21. Add the diced tomatoes to the bowl.
- 22. Add the fine celery cubes to the bowl.
- 23. Add the finely chopped celery greens to the bowl.
- 24. Save a few of the fine celery leaves for decoration.
- 25. Finely chop the remaining celery leaves.
- 26. Season the entire mixture with salt to taste.
- 27. Season the mixture with freshly ground pepper to taste.
- 28. Take four slices of bread.
- 29. Top each slice of bread with the prepared lettuce leaves.
- 30. Distribute the tuna vegetable mixture evenly over the lettuce.
- 31. Place the remaining bread slices on top as lids for the sandwiches.
- 32. Cut each sandwich diagonally in half.
- 33. Serve the sandwiches immediately.
