Ingredients
- 1 mango
- 1 pear
- 1 red bell pepper
- 1 red chili pepper
- 2 spring onions
- 1 tbsp fresh chopped mint
- 1 tbsp fresh chopped cilantro
- 1 lime
- 1 tsp brown sugar
- salt
Instructions
- 1. Peel the mango and the pear.
- 2. Remove the pit from the mango and the core from the pear.
- 3. Dice the flesh of both fruits into small cubes.
- 4. Place the fruit into a bowl.
- 5. Wash the bell pepper and the chili pepper under running water.
- 6. Halve both peppers lengthwise.
- 7. Remove the seeds and white membranes from the peppers.
- 8. Dice the bell pepper finely.
- 9. Finely chop the chili pepper.
- 10. Wash the spring onions.
- 11. Slice the spring onions into thin rings.
- 12. Add the diced bell pepper, chopped chili, and onion rings to the fruit mixture.
- 13. Add the fresh herbs.
- 14. Squeeze the juice from one lime.
- 15. Mix the lime juice with the brown sugar.
- 16. Stir the sugar-lime mixture into the salsa.
- 17. Let the salsa sit for about 30 minutes.
- 18. Season the salsa with salt to taste before serving.
