  2. 2. Cut the bread into approx. 1 cm cubes.
  3. 3. Dice the bacon finely.
  4. 4. Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a pan.
  5. 5. Fry the bacon in the hot oil.
  6. 6. Remove the bacon from the pan.
  7. 7. Let the bacon drain on kitchen paper.
  8. 8. Fry the bread cubes in the remaining bacon fat until golden brown.
  9. 9. Let the croutons drain on kitchen paper as well.
  10. 10. Remove the tough stems from the romaine lettuce.
  11. 11. Wash the lettuce thoroughly.
  12. 12. Dry the lettuce well or spin it dry.
  13. 13. Tear the lettuce leaves into smaller pieces.
  14. 14. Peel the garlic.
  15. 15. Put the garlic into a blender.
  16. 16. Add the remaining oil to the blender.
  17. 17. Add the lemon juice to the blender.

  19. 19. Add 1 tsp of Worcestershire sauce to the blender.

  25. 25. Thin the sauce if necessary with a little water or cream.
  26. 26. Mix the romaine lettuce with the dressing.
  27. 27. Distribute the salad onto bowls.
  28. 28. Sprinkle the croutons over the salad.
  29. 29. Sprinkle the bacon over the salad.
  30. 30. Garnish the salad with Parmesan.
