  1. 1. Thoroughly wash the oakleaf lettuce and the spinach under running water.
  2. 2. Remove any tough stems or wilted leaves from the spinach and the lettuce.
  3. 3. Tear the oakleaf lettuce into small, bite-sized pieces.
  4. 4. Wash the radishes and slice them into thin rounds.
  5. 5. Whisk the grape seed oil with the lemon juice and the whole peppercorns in a small bowl.
  6. 6. Season the dressing to taste with a little ground pepper.
  7. 7. Toss the torn oakleaf lettuce with the spinach and the radish slices in a large bowl.
  8. 8. Divide the salad mixture evenly among individual plates.
  9. 9. Arrange the slices of smoked salmon attractively on top of the salad.
  10. 10. Drizzle a little of the prepared dressing over the salmon and serve the salad immediately.
