  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 220 degrees Celsius using the top and bottom heat setting.
  2. 2. Wash the tomatoes thoroughly. Optionally remove the stems. Place the tomatoes on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
  3. 3. Lightly dust the tomatoes with powdered sugar. Then season them with salt.
  4. 4. Place the tray in the oven. Bake the tomatoes for about 5 minutes. They should caramelize slightly and begin to wrinkle.
  5. 5. Remove the tray from the oven. Peel the garlic and slice it into thin pieces.
  6. 6. Mix the garlic with lemon juice and oil in a small bowl.
  7. 7. Pour the garlic-oil mixture over the warm tomatoes. Gently toss everything together.
  8. 8. Let the salad cool down to lukewarm. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
  9. 9. Sprinkle the finished salad with fresh basil. Serve it now.
