  6. 6. Let the mixture rest, covered, for 15 minutes.
  7. 7. Add the remaining water, salt, and oil.
  8. 8. Knead everything into a soft dough.
  9. 9. Let the dough rise, covered, in a warm place for 1 hour.
  10. 10. Pour boiling water over the tomatoes.
  11. 11. Rinse the tomatoes immediately under cold water.
  12. 12. Peel the skin off the tomatoes.
  13. 13. Cut the tomatoes into small cubes.
  14. 14. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pot.
  15. 15. Simmer the tomato cubes with the oil for a little while.
  16. 16. Season the sauce with thyme, salt, and pepper.

  18. 18. Cut the salami into thin slices.
