  1. 1. Place the gelatin sheets in a bowl of cold water for five minutes.
  2. 2. Slice the vanilla pod lengthwise.
  3. 3. Scrape out the tiny vanilla seeds from the pod using a knife.
  4. 4. Add the cream, sugar, and vanilla seeds to a saucepan.
  5. 5. Place the empty vanilla pod into the saucepan as well.
  6. 6. Heat the mixture over low heat and let it simmer gently for about five minutes.
  7. 7. Remove the vanilla pod from the warm cream and take the saucepan off the heat.
  8. 8. Squeeze the soaked gelatin well to remove excess water.
  9. 9. Stir the gelatin into the warm vanilla cream until it has completely dissolved.
  10. 10. Rinse four small molds briefly with cold water.
  11. 11. Pour the vanilla cream into the prepared molds.
  12. 12. Place the molds, covered, in the refrigerator for five hours.
  13. 13. Wash the strawberries and remove any unripe spots.
  14. 14. Let the strawberries drain well.
  15. 15. Carefully turn out the cold panna cotta onto dessert plates.
  16. 16. Decorate the plates with the fresh strawberries.
