🥤 Juicy Turkey Döner

Ingredients
- 1 tomato
- 0.5 small romaine lettuce
- 1 garlic clove
- 0.5 small salad cucumber
- 200 g yogurt (1.5 % fat)
- 200 g quark (20 % fat)
- salt

- 500 g turkey cutlets
- 2 tbsp rapeseed oil
- 4 small pita breads
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the tomato under running water.
- 2. Remove the hard stem attachment at the top.
- 3. Cut the tomato into four equal pieces.
- 4. Remove the seeds and the surrounding pulp.
- 5. Dice the remaining tomato flesh very finely.
- 6. Place the tomato cubes into a small bowl.
- 7. Rinse the romaine lettuce under cold water.
- 8. Remove the hard stems and wilted leaves.
- 9. Dry the lettuce thoroughly, for example in a salad spinner.
- 10. Cut the lettuce leaves into thin strips.
- 11. Add the lettuce strips to the bowl with the prepared tomato.
- 12. Peel the garlic clove completely.
- 13. Get a garlic press ready.
- 14. Press the garlic through the press into a second, clean bowl.
- 15. Rinse the cucumber under running water.
- 16. Remove the tough green skin with a peeler.
- 17. Get a fine grater ready.
- 18. Grate the peeled cucumber directly over the garlic into the bowl.
- 19. Add the yogurt to the cucumber-garlic mixture.
- 20. Add the quark (curd cheese) to the mixture.
- 21. Stir all ingredients for the sauce vigorously with a spoon.
- 22. Season the sauce with salt to taste.
- 23. Season the sauce with freshly ground pepper to taste.
- 24. Rinse the turkey cutlets under cold water.
- 25. Pat the cutlets dry with kitchen paper or a clean cloth.
- 26. Cut the meat into very thin strips.
- 27. Season the meat strips with a pinch of salt.
- 28. Season the meat strips with freshly ground pepper.
- 29. Pour the oil into a large non-stick frying pan.
- 30. Heat the oil over medium to high heat.
- 31. Add the turkey strips to the hot pan.
- 32. Fry the meat until browned on all sides.
- 33. Let the meat cook for a total of 8 to 10 minutes.
- 34. Cut a pocket into each pita bread without cutting all the way through.
- 35. Fill the pita pockets with the prepared salad mixture.
- 36. Add one tablespoon of the tzatziki sauce onto the salad in each pocket.
- 37. Distribute the fried turkey strips evenly over the breads.
- 38. Drizzle the remaining tzatziki sauce over the top as a garnish.
- 39. Serve the doners immediately while warm.
