  5. 5. Remove the tough parts of the fennel.
  6. 6. Grate the fennel coarsely or chop it finely.
  7. 7. Put the flour into a mixing bowl.
  8. 8. Add the yeast to the bowl.
  9. 9. Mix the flour and yeast together.
  10. 10. Pour the milk into a saucepan.
  11. 11. Add the sugar to the milk in the saucepan.
  12. 12. Warm the milk and sugar mixture until lukewarm.
  13. 13. Add the grated potatoes to the lukewarm milk.
  14. 14. Add the grated or chopped fennel to the milk.
  15. 15. Stir the potatoes and fennel into the milk.
  16. 16. Wash the chives.
  17. 17. Shake the chives dry.
  18. 18. Cut the chives into fine rings.
  19. 19. Add the flour to the bowl with the potato-fennel-milk mixture.
  20. 20. Add the egg to the bowl.
  21. 21. Add the salt to the bowl.

  24. 24. Mix all ingredients using the dough hooks of a hand mixer.
