  1. 1. Put 50 grams of butter, sugar, vanilla sugar, and the eggs into a bowl.
  2. 2. Add the quark (curd cheese) spoonful by spoonful.
  3. 3. Mix the mixture briefly but thoroughly using the beaters of a hand mixer.
  4. 4. Add the apple puree and stir it in.
  5. 5. Finally, add the semolina and mix it in.
  6. 6. Dice the mango.
  7. 7. Fold the mango cubes into the batter.
  8. 8. Grease a rectangular baking pan (20x30 cm) with the remaining butter.
  9. 9. Pour the batter into the pan.
  10. 10. Preheat the oven to 180 °C (convection: 160 °C, gas: setting 2).
  11. 11. Bake the cake on the middle rack for 40 minutes.
  12. 12. Cover the cake with aluminum foil for the last 10 minutes if it is browning too much.
  13. 13. Let the cake cool down slightly in the pan.
  14. 14. Cut the cake in half lengthwise.
  15. 15. Cut both strips into 6 pieces each, approximately 5x10 cm.
  16. 16. Wrap the bars in foil for taking away.
