🍽️ Russian Beef Stew

Ingredients
- 600 g beef goulash
- 200 g potatoes (floury)
- 1 large carrot
- 1 onion
- 2 ghee
- 0.75 l meat broth
- 200 ml vodka
- 2 tomatoes
- 4 pickles
- 60 g black olives (pitted, sliced)
- 1 small jar capers
- salt
- pepper
- bell peppers
Instructions
- 1. Peel the potatoes and cut them into small cubes.
- 2. Peel the onions, halve them, and cut them into fine cubes as well.
- 3. Peel the carrots and grate them coarsely.
- 4. Heat the ghee (clarified butter) in a large pot.
- 5. Sear the meat on high heat.
- 6. Add the potatoes, carrots, and onions to the meat.
- 7. Fry the vegetables briefly.
- 8. Deglaze the mixture with vodka.
- 9. Pour in the broth.
- 10. Cook everything in the covered pot for approx. 1 hour.
- 11. Wait until the vegetables fall apart and the meat is tender.
- 12. Wash the tomatoes and slice them.
- 13. Drain the capers.
- 14. Dice the pickles.
- 15. Add the remaining ingredients to the stew.
- 16. Warm everything through.
- 17. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
- 18. Serve the stew with fresh piroggen (filled pastries).
