Ingredients
- 6 pears
- 1 untreated lemon
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 10 star anise
- 60 g white rock sugar
- 800 ml white rum
Instructions
- 1. Wash the pears thoroughly and dry them.
- 2. Cut the pears into wedges and remove the core.
- 3. Rinse the lemon under hot water and pat it dry.
- 4. Peel off the thin zest of the lemon.
- 5. Squeeze the juice from the lemon.
- 6. Mix the lemon juice with the pear wedges.
- 7. Break the cinnamon sticks into small pieces.
- 8. Rinse the jars with hot water.
- 9. Fill the prepared jars with the pears, cinnamon pieces, star anise, rock sugar, and lemon zest.
- 10. Pour rum over the ingredients until everything is completely covered.
- 11. Seal the jars tightly.
- 12. Let the jars steep for about 6 weeks in a cool and dark place.
