🍽️ Crunchy Nut Rolls

Ingredients
- 300 g flour
- 1.5 tsp baking powder
- 0.5 tsp salt
- 200 g butter
- 150 g sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp bourbon vanilla
- 1 tbsp milk
- 100 g chopped hazelnuts
- 100 g chopped almond kernels
- 100 g chopped walnuts
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 3 tbsp honey
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 egg white
Instructions
- 1. Mix all dry ingredients in a bowl.
- 2. Lightly beat the egg with a fork.
- 3. Add the butter, milk, and beaten egg to the dry ingredients.
- 4. Knead everything into a smooth dough.
- 5. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap.
- 6. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for one hour.
- 7. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.
- 8. Line a baking sheet with baking paper.
- 9. Dust a work surface with flour.
- 10. Roll the dough out thinly to a thickness of 4 to 5 millimeters.
- 11. Cut out rectangular dough pieces about 10 to 15 centimeters long.
- 12. Toast the nuts briefly in a pan without fat.
- 13. Remove the nuts from the pan and set them aside.
- 14. Caramelize honey and sugar over low heat in the pan.
- 15. Stir in the nuts and cinnamon as soon as the caramel mixture is runny.
- 16. Process the filling immediately.
- 17. Place one to two teaspoons of the nut mixture onto the dough pieces.
- 18. Roll the dough pieces tightly.
- 19. Seal the ends of the rolls with a little egg white.
- 20. Bake the rolls for 8 to 10 minutes until golden yellow.
