  9. 9. Bake the cake at 200 degrees for about 35 minutes until light brown.
  10. 10. Wash the cherries and let them drain.

  12. 12. Beat the egg whites until half stiff.
  13. 13. Slowly add the powdered sugar.
  14. 14. Continue beating until the egg whites are glossy.
  15. 15. Fold the cherries into the egg whites.

  18. 18. Bake the cake under the highest broil setting or under the grill.
