  1. 1. Put sugar, vanilla sugar, and soft butter into a large mixing bowl.
  2. 2. Beat the ingredients with a mixer or whisk until the mixture is light and frothy.
  3. 3. Add the eggs and milk to the butter-sugar mixture.
  4. 4. Stir everything well until it is fully combined.
  5. 5. Take a second bowl and mix flour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt in it.
  6. 6. Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
  7. 7. Stir gently until no more flour lumps are visible.
  8. 8. Line a baking pan with baking paper.
  9. 9. Fill the dough into the pan and smooth the surface.
  10. 10. Preheat the oven to 170 degrees Celsius conventional heat (150 degrees Celsius fan-forced or gas level 2-3).
  11. 11. Bake the cake for about 40 to 50 minutes until golden brown.
  12. 12. Take the cake out of the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes.
  13. 13. Carefully loosen the cake from the edge of the pan with a knife.
  14. 14. Take the cake out of the pan and place it on a wire rack.
  15. 15. Let the cake cool completely.
