🍰 Pears in Red Wine Sauce

Ingredients
- 8 small pears
- 0.75 l red wine
- 150 g sugar
- 1 untreated lemon
- 1 cinnamon stick
Instructions
- 1. Slice the lemon into thin rounds.
- 2. Add the lemon slices, red wine, sugar, and cinnamon stick to a pot.
- 3. Bring the mixture to a boil.
- 4. Let the liquid simmer gently for 10 minutes over low heat.
- 5. Peel the pears.
- 6. Remove the core from the bottom using a sharp knife.
- 7. Remove the cinnamon stick and lemon slices from the wine.
- 8. Place the pears upright and close together in a large pot.
- 9. Pour the red wine over the pears.
- 10. Cover the pot.
- 11. Simmer the pears on low heat for 15 to 20 minutes.
- 12. Ladle some of the liquid over the pears repeatedly to keep them moist.
- 13. Remove the cooked pears from the liquid.
- 14. Place the pears on plates.
- 15. Continue to boil down the remaining red wine until it becomes syrupy.
- 16. Pour the sauce over the pears just before serving.
