  2. 2. Cut out the hard core from the center of each quarter.
  3. 3. Slice the red cabbage finely into thin strips.
  4. 4. Place the cut strips into a large bowl.
  5. 5. Pour boiling water over the red cabbage.
  6. 6. Let the cabbage steep in the hot water for five minutes.
  7. 7. Drain the water and let the red cabbage drain well.
  8. 8. Whisk the vinegar, juice, oil, and honey together in a small bowl.
  9. 9. Add the spices to the dressing mixture.
  10. 10. Season the dressing to taste with salt and pepper.
