🍽️ Hazelnut Raisin Mulled Wine with Orange Zest

Ingredients
- 50 g hazelnuts
- 50 g raisins
- 100 ml blackcurrant juice
- 250 ml apple juice (or 350 ml red wine)
- 2 oranges
- 6 tbsp fruit tea
- 0.5 cinnamon stick
- 5 cloves
- 1 star anise
- 700 ml water
- 3 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp honey
Instructions
- 1. Halve the hazelnuts.
- 2. Place the hazelnuts and raisins in a bowl.
- 3. Pour blackcurrant juice and apple juice (or red wine) over them.
- 4. Let the mixture soak overnight.
- 5. Squeeze the juice from one orange.
- 6. Measure out 200 milliliters of the orange juice.
- 7. Cut the orange peel into thin strips.
- 8. Pour boiling water over the orange peel, fruit tea blend, cinnamon stick, cloves, and star anise.
- 9. Let the spices steep for ten minutes.
- 10. Strain the spice broth.
- 11. Add the strained broth along with the soaked raisins and hazelnuts (including the soaking liquid) to a pot.
- 12. Heat the mixture.
- 13. Add the measured orange juice, lemon juice, and honey.
- 14. Taste the drink and adjust the seasoning if needed.
