🍽️ Crispy Brussels Sprouts with Toasted Almonds

Ingredients
- 1 kg Brussels sprouts
- 2 tbsp sliced almond kernels
- 2 tbsp butter
- salt
- nutmeg
Instructions
- 1. Cut off the hard stem at the bottom of each individual Brussels sprout.
- 2. Remove any wilted or damaged outer leaves.
- 3. Make a cross-shaped cut into the remaining stem.
- 4. Fill a pot with some water and bring it to a boil.
- 5. Place the Brussels sprouts in a steamer insert and set it in the pot.
- 6. Steam the cabbage under a lid for 8 to 10 minutes until tender.
- 7. While steaming, put the almonds into a dry pan.
- 8. Toast the almonds without extra fat until golden brown.
- 9. Melt the butter in a separate pot or pan.
- 10. Add the steamed Brussels sprouts to the melted butter.
- 11. Toss the cabbage briefly in the butter to warm it through.
- 12. Sprinkle the toasted almonds over the Brussels sprouts.
- 13. Season the dish finally with salt and ground nutmeg.
