Ingredients
- 500 g potatoes
- 2 onions
- 1 garlic clove
- 500 g carrots
- 3 eggs
- salt
- pepper (from the mill)
- nutmeg
- 0.5 tsp ground cumin
- oil (for frying)
Instructions
- 1. Peel the potatoes and the onions.
- 2. Grate the potatoes and the onions coarsely.
- 3. Place the grated potatoes and onions into a bowl.
- 4. Peel the carrots.
- 5. Grate the carrots coarsely.
- 6. Mix the grated carrots with the potato and onion mixture.
- 7. Stir the eggs into the vegetable mixture.
- 8. Press the garlic directly into the bowl.
- 9. Season the mixture with salt.
- 10. Season the mixture with pepper.
- 11. Season the mixture with nutmeg.
- 12. Season the mixture with cumin.
- 13. Heat about 3 tablespoons of oil in a large skillet.
- 14. Place the vegetable mixture into the hot skillet.
- 15. Smooth out the mixture in the skillet.
- 16. Fry the rosti over medium heat for about 10 minutes.
- 17. Flip the rosti using a lid.
- 18. Add a little extra oil.
- 19. Finish frying the rosti for another 10 minutes.
