  1. 1. Halve the peppers and remove the seeds.
  2. 2. Place the pepper halves skin-side up on a baking tray.
  3. 3. Roast the peppers in the preheated oven at 220 degrees until the skin blisters.
  4. 4. Remove the peppers from the oven and peel off the browned skin.
  5. 5. Cut the pepper flesh into thin strips and place them in a bowl.
  6. 6. Peel the onion and garlic clove and chop them finely.
  7. 7. Sauté the onion and garlic mixture in two tablespoons of hot oil until translucent.
  8. 8. Season the mixture with salt and pepper.
  9. 9. Add the sautéed vegetables and basil to the peppers and mix well.
  10. 10. Toast the bread slices under the grill for a short time on both sides.
  11. 11. Rub the warm toasts with the halved garlic clove.
  12. 12. Drizzle the toasts with a little oil.
  13. 13. Distribute the pepper mixture evenly over the toasts.
  14. 14. Serve the toasts immediately.
