🍽️ Crispy Toasts with Basil, Ham, and Cheese

Ingredients
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 ball buffalo mozzarella (125 g each)
- 4 tbsp olive oil
- 0.5 tsp dried Italian herbs
- 8 slices baguette
- 2 handfuls fresh basil
- 8 slices Italian cooked ham (Prosciutto cotto)
- sea salt
- pepper (from the mill)
Instructions
- 1. Peel the garlic cloves and cut them in half.
- 2. Drain the mozzarella, remove it from the liquid, and cut it into eight equal pieces.
- 3. Mix the olive oil with the fresh herbs in a small bowl.
- 4. Preheat the grill and brush one side of the bread slices with some oil.
- 5. Place the breads oiled-side down on the hot grill and toast them for 1 to 2 minutes until crispy.
- 6. Remove the breads from the grill and rub the toasted side vigorously with the halved garlic cloves.
- 7. Drizzle the herb-oil mixture over the toasted side of the breads.
- 8. Top each bread with a piece of mozzarella, two basil leaves, and one slice of prosciutto.
- 9. Season the topped breads with coarse salt and black pepper.
- 10. Place the breads back on the grill and grill them for another 1 to 2 minutes until the cheese has melted.
- 11. Remove the finished toasts from the grill and serve them immediately on plates.
