🍽️ Crunchy Toast with Creamy Chicken Liver Pâté

Ingredients
- 1 onion
- 400 g chicken liver
- 50 g butter
- 80 ml port wine
- 3 tbsp sweet whipping cream
- salt
- pepper (from the mill)
- 1 baguette
- 50 g capers (jar)
- 4 tbsp freshly chopped parsley
Instructions
- 1. Peel the onion and cut it into very small cubes.
- 2. Melt some butter in a pan and briefly fry the liver on all sides.
- 3. Add the onion cubes to the liver and sauté them together for 3 minutes.
- 4. Deglaze the mixture with port wine and cream.
- 5. Let the mixture cool down completely in the pan.
- 6. Blend the cooled mixture into a smooth paste using a hand blender.
- 7. Season the paste with salt and pepper to taste.
- 8. Slice the baguette.
- 9. Lightly toast the bread slices in the oven at 250 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
- 10. Remove the slices and let them cool down briefly.
- 11. Spread the chicken liver paste onto the toast slices.
- 12. Sprinkle the topped toasts with capers and fresh parsley.
- 13. Serve the toast immediately.
