  2. 2. Melt some butter in a pan and briefly fry the liver on all sides.
  3. 3. Add the onion cubes to the liver and sauté them together for 3 minutes.
  4. 4. Deglaze the mixture with port wine and cream.
  5. 5. Let the mixture cool down completely in the pan.
  6. 6. Blend the cooled mixture into a smooth paste using a hand blender.
  7. 7. Season the paste with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. 8. Slice the baguette.
  9. 9. Lightly toast the bread slices in the oven at 250 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
  10. 10. Remove the slices and let them cool down briefly.
  11. 11. Spread the chicken liver paste onto the toast slices.
  12. 12. Sprinkle the topped toasts with capers and fresh parsley.
  13. 13. Serve the toast immediately.
