  1. 1. Cut the bacon into thin strips or small cubes.
  2. 2. Peel the onion and dice it finely.
  3. 3. Melt one tablespoon of butter in a pan.
  4. 4. Fry the bacon in the butter until crispy.
  5. 5. Add the onions and sauté them until translucent.
  6. 6. Stir the washed rice into the pan.
  7. 7. Pour the meat broth in slowly and in small amounts.
  8. 8. Wait until the liquid is almost fully absorbed before adding the next amount.
  9. 9. Let the rice cook for about 30 minutes.
  10. 10. Add the thawed peas during the last 5 minutes of cooking time.
  11. 11. Season the dish finally with salt and pepper.
  12. 12. Finish it off with a little butter and grated Parmesan.
  13. 13. Serve the casserole garnished with fresh parsley.
