🍽️ Tender Beef Fillet with Aromatic Cinnamon Onions

Ingredients
- 200 g Pearl Onions
- 800 g Beef Fillet
- Salt
- Pepper from the mill
- 1 tsp Cinnamon Powder
- 3 tbsp Oil
- 2 tbsp Butter
- 250 ml Vegetable Broth (Instant)
- 2 Cinnamon Sticks
- 150 g Crème fraîche
- 100 ml Red Wine
- 1 tbsp Dark Sauce Thickener
Instructions
- 1. Peel the pearl onions completely.
- 2. Season the beef fillet evenly with salt, pepper, and half a teaspoon of ground cinnamon.
- 3. Heat some oil in a large casserole pot.
- 4. Sear the beef fillet on all sides until it has a brown crust.
- 5. Add the peeled onions and a piece of butter to the pot.
- 6. Sauté the onions over medium heat for five minutes until they are soft and translucent.
- 7. Dust the remaining ground cinnamon evenly over the onions.
- 8. Pour some meat broth into the pot.
- 9. Add one or two cinnamon sticks to the liquid.
- 10. Place the seared meat back into the pot.
- 11. Cover the pot and let the meat simmer over medium heat for 15 to 20 minutes.
- 12. Turn the meat once in the middle of the cooking time.
- 13. Carefully remove the cooked beef fillet from the pot.
- 14. Wrap the meat tightly in aluminum foil to keep it warm.
- 15. Stir crème fraîche into the remaining sauce in the pot.
- 16. Let the sauce come to a brief boil.
- 17. Season the sauce to taste with salt and pepper.
- 18. Pour some red wine into the sauce.
- 19. Dilute a small amount of sauce thickener with some cold water and stir it into the sauce to thicken it.
- 20. Slice the beef fillet into even slices.
- 21. Arrange the meat slices on plates and pour the hot sauce over them.
