  1. 1. Put the rice and half a liter of water into a medium-sized pot. Bring the mixture to a boil, reduce the heat, and let the rice simmer for 25 minutes until it is soft and has absorbed the liquid.
  2. 2. Set aside half a cup of milk. Stir the remaining milk, the cream, and the sugar into the rice and bring everything to a boil again.
  3. 3. Stir the cornstarch into the reserved milk until smooth, with no lumps left. Slowly add this mixture to the boiling rice mass while stirring constantly. Add salt and vanilla, and let the pudding simmer uncovered for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. 4. Fill the mixture into individual serving bowls and let it cool. Place the pudding in the refrigerator for 3 hours. Serve it sprinkled with cinnamon.
